With the latest heading date of any perennial ryegrass available, Vast grows high quality feed for longer with really strong production through summer and autumn. But that’s not all! Vast is the next generation in tetraploid perennial ryegrasses – purpose-bred to be the ultimate combination of density, quality, production, and grazing preference to maximise stock performance and productivity. Use Vast to support slower post-peak decline for spring calving dairy herds, better ewe lactational performance, and improved weaned lamb growth rates. Find out more about Vast on our website.
The extremely late heading date and low aftermath heading have really been a game changer. When everything else has gone to seed, Vast is still pushing high-quality vegetative pastures further into summer. Vast really does just what the brochure said it would.
I tried some pre-commercial Vast demo packs and I’ve been so impressed I haven’t looked back! I’ve currently got ewes lambing on it and it’s been ticking away beautifully. It was drilled quite late, but it’s still been very consistent.
Having different tetraploids with different dates gives us more time to stay on top of things and maintain quality. The late heading date of Vast has been a great addition. I’ve been particularly impressed with the low aftermath heading of Vast – it was the only paddock that didn’t need a portion of the paddock topped.
I’ve been really impressed with feed quality of Vast – I haven’t had to top the paddock yet. It’s held its quality over the summer and has impressive clover content within the sward.
